St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church

How can our buildings be used for the repair of our community?

St. Paul, MN

St. John’s serves a diverse area in St. Paul at the intersection of two vibrant neighborhoods with very different histories and cultures. The congregation seeks to continue to be a vibrant presence where they’ve been planted, while expanding their capability to offer resources, space, and welcome to their neighbors for generations to come.

After a thorough feasibility study that probed the congregation’s willingness and capacity to give to a capital campaign, St. John’s identified improvements to their shared gathering spaces, along with establishing a building reserve fund, as their priorities for giving.

The generosity of the community met the moment, achieving both the campaign and stretch goals we identified. St. John's dedication to being “repairers of the breach and restorers of streets to live in” has come to life in work made possible by a community unified by love of neighbor.
