Chanda Rule

Music, Creative Liturgy and Worship

Based in

Vienna, Austria /
New York, NY

“With feet rooted in gospel, a heart filled with soul, and a voice touched with jazz,” Chanda says, “I am a singer, songwriter, lover and Interfaith minister who has been weaving stories through song, humming melodies, and bending words since my childhood.”

Chanda brings the energy and discipline of a performer to the leading of congregational music workshops that encourage all people to use their voices powerfully, peacefully and bathed in Spirit. A recent graduate of Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York, Chanda’s innovative integration of music with scripture, liturgy, and story-telling can open up new vistas for congregations and communities. As a storyteller—sometimes with words, sometimes with ritual, and other times with song and collaborative arts, Chanda can listen to the heartbeat of a community and help it to sing its own song. “I believe songs are God’s healing balm for the human spirit and use music to celebrate and honor unconditional love and the downright sacred wholeness of every being.”
